UN chief denies Kosovo to introduce visa regime for Macedonia

Skopje, 1 June: Kosovo doesn't intend to introduce any restrictions or visa regime to Macedonia, UNMIK [UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo] Head Soren Jessen-Petersen said late Wednesday [1 June] at a working supper with Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski.

"There will no seals or fees but free movement requiring only a presentation of a passport," Petersen said.

Buckovski said the talks on demarcating Macedonia's northern border on Kosovo part were continuing at expert level.

A meeting on this subject has been already scheduled for 8 June in Pristina, Petersen said, adding that the border demarcation process should be solved before the start of talks on Kosovo final status.

The meeting also addressed the Macedonia-Kosovo free trade agreement, which will be also discussed at the next week expert meeting.
