MacShane: Kosovo will become a small state

Koha Ditore quotes former British Minister for Europe Dennis MacShane as saying that it is clear that Kosovo will never again return under Serbian rule and that part of the solution for the Balkans is for Kosovo to become a small state that can stand on its own two feet.

‘As soon as Belgrade leaders come out with positive proposals and tell Europe that Serbia will no longer insist for Kosovo and will allow it to resolve its future, the better it will be for all in the region because after this we can set up European norms in Kosovo,’ added MacShane.

Why does every Western diplomat become so pro-Independence once they live their office? I guess Europe and the US need some bold politicians, the way Bush and Rugova are.

It's not that they're so pro, they're just stating the obvious. The limitations their office presents to speaking their mind aren't there anymore.
Bush and Rugova are nothing alike.

A small failed state in the Balkans. A great solution for all, obviously.

CONGRATULATIONS KOSOVA,
I sure hope that what MacShane said will come true! You guys deserve the right to independence, and freedom from the serbs. We (Croatians) know the price of freedom, and our civilians and soldiers paid that price. Your people also paid that price, and we wish all Albanians and Kosova a bright and independent future!
Good Luck!

I would just like to inform you that the new va-va-voom state, i.e. Kosova, will be a close ally of Croatia and other peaceloving nations of the world.
