U.N. customs in Kosovo introduce the integrated customs code for the province

PRISTINA, Serbia-Montenegro (AP) - The United Nations customs service in Kosovo introduced an integrated customs code for the province establishing legal guidelines for traders, the U.N. said Friday.

The new code, called TARIK, is based on an international and a European system of customs tariffs, a U.N. statement said.

"Therefore, Kosovo's Customs Tariff becomes compatible with the European Union and all member states of the World Customs Organization, which is a big advantage for international businesses trading with Kosovo, " the U.N. said.

Kosovo has been administered by the United Nations since 1999.
