President's illness can serve as "engine" for political process, Kosovo daily

Kosova [Kosovo] President Ibrahim Rugova has informed the public about the disease he is suffering from. We all wish him the best and hope he will recover. In the meantime, just like it could have been understood from the president's message and the many reactions that followed - from both Kosovars and internationals - this moment requires the entire society to focus on building consensus and unity so that the current process moves in the right direction.

No one, even in the international community, is sure what the pace will be of the process that was announced and started with the mission of Kai Eide [UN Secretary General's envoy on standards for Kosovo fulfilment], and what should be achieved with the conclusion Kosova's final status. However, the beginning of the end of the game seems to be very close. Even though there are no doubts among the Kosovars regarding the final goal - Kosova's independence - this does not mean that the game is over already, but rather that a lot more work is needed to arrive at that point. And, as many factors indicate, the hardest part of the political process is ahead of Kosova.

Therefore, consensus and unity among the political players are crucial for a right position of Kosova ahead of the opening of the major status issue. Consensus and unity are not only necessary for reaching the final goal - on which we all agree - but also for the ways to come to that. Only in this way can President Rugova's illness - which is seen by many as a factor that will delay the political process in Kosova - be turned into an engine to move it forward even quicker.

In his touching address on Monday [ 5 September], President Rugova opened the doors to everyone to create the necessary consensus and unity. It is the turn for others - not with statements, but with action.

Their Xhafer Deva had the Jews of Kosovo killed or sent to Bergen Belsen to their death. No Jews remained in Kosovo thanks to the happy german allies---the Kosovo albanians...and they did it again in the war of the 90's. Cleansed all the JEws from Kosovo once again.

And yet a Jew is writing to you from Prishtina, and has quite a few Jewish Albanian friends in Kosova, the very country you claim has none.

Serb propaganda is amazing...do you still claim the world is flat? Cause even if you saw the evidence from space, you'd say its not so...

...how convenient for you to ignore that Kosovo became part of your ally ADolf Hitler's creation of Greater Albania during WW2. How convenient of you to deny what his albanian footsoldiers did to Jews of Kosovo during WW2...how convenient for you to ignore your hero Xhafer Deva.

How convinient for Serbs to forget that Kosova became part of great Serbia during a repressive communist regime and forget about the Serb heroes who have killed children and women, Slobodan Milosevic, Mladic, Karadjic and their buddies in the Hague.
