Macedonia Ready to Recognize Kosovo’s Independence?

According to Skopje’s Television Channel 5, Ali Ahmeti, leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI), pointed out that Kosovo’s independence would bring peace and stability to Macedonia and in the region. Ahmeti made this statement right after his meeting with the People’s Movement for Kosovo in Pristina. Such statement could represent the common opinion of Macedonian society.
Media in Skopje informs that BDI partners in the government – the social democrats of Crvenkovski and Buckovski, have not made a comment regarding former partisan commander’s statement but they do not reject the claim that they are ready to recognize Kosovo’s statute right after Albania does so.
Government circles believe that in the next 18 months, the international community will concentrate on resolving the Kosovo issue and convincing Belgrade to recognize Kosovo’s independence. Therefore, January 1st 2007 could be considered possible independence day for Kosovo.

A true Macedonian would never say that because you know what happens to Macedonia should Kosovo become independent. We can kiss our sweet country of Macedonia good bye.

Isn't Skopje channel 5 the albanian channel in macedonia? No credibility

Croatia just recently declared that there is no threat to the region if Kosova goes ahead with independence. Then there is Montenegro who will very likely go ahead with its own independence within six months.

Anonymous said...

Croatia doesn't even broder Kosovo, so of course there is no threat to them. The best thing that could happen for Croatia is more unstability for Serbia.

Look at Slovania they are cleaning up with the rest of the former Yugoslav republics still in a tailspin.

We need Macedonia the way it is, so don't worry about it when Kosova becomes independent. The only thing that we will all gain is a better standard of living in the new environment with peace and stability.

As long as Kosovo and Metohija remains within Serbia, Macedonia doesn't need to worry about losing part of it's country to the same albanian extremists.

Actually it was the former Macedonian former prime minister the one who proposed the division of Macedonia and not any of the KLA leaders. He proposed this to Ali Ahmeti and the Albanian prime minister at that time Ilir Meta. Both of them refused such a plan because it is not in the interest of the Albanians to see families who have been living in their lands for hundreeds of years be forcefully moved because some psycho wants an ethnicaly clean pieace of land. Albanians fought for more rights in the Macedonian society and not division, and the fact that both Ali Ahmeti and Ilir Meta refused the division of Macedonia says a lot about the intention of Albanians.

On the other side Macedonians should be very careful from Serbian priests spreading Serb propaganda in Macedonia. That is what fuels conflicts (Serb propganda who in most cases comes from the Serb church.).

As a Macedonian I must say that the first poster is either a serb or a moron since Macedonians in Macedonia want Kosova to become independant for stability, economic increases, and smiling at the serbs who still believe that a "yugoslavia" exists where they control everything.
These horrible serbs not only want to have Kosova not become independant but they are trying to regain Macedonia back into its fold.
The serb leadership is very hasty and very stupid in how it is moving about with trying to destabilize the balkan region. This serb priest in Macedonia is lucky he didn't get hanged in Skopje for trying to bring a serb church worship in Macedonia.Macedonians can't wait for Kosova to become independant so as both states could then reap upon little serbia as serbia once did in both of our lands.

Ivan,

Have you ever been to the northwestern town of Tetovo. When Macedonia was part of Yugoslavia (dominated by serbs as you say) You could walk around and here macedonian music, signs, people speaking macedonian. Know its all albanian. Albanian Flags, signs written in albanian. You feel like you are in albania. With that attitude Ivan you soon will be in albania.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah and Ivan when Macedonia gained its independence from Yugoslavia why didn'y the serbs put up a fight to keep it? Because their isn't anything worth keeping. I just visited this past summer what a dismal little country.

TIRANA, Albania -- The British embassy in Tirana issued a statement Monday (26 September) warning British citizens who intend to travel in Albania to consider security risks in some areas of the country. According to the statement, cited by the daily Albanian News on Tuesday (27 September), the embassy particularly mentioned northeast border areas between Albania and Kosovo. Recently, a bus carrying some 30 passengers -- including three British tourists -- from Tirana to Shkodra was stopped by an armed gang and robbed. (Albanian News - 27/09/05)

When Kosova get its independence macedonia will join kosova and we kosovar albanians we will give the Macedonians rights; to vote, to celebrate their national holidays, use their flag, use sings in macedonian aslo, and they have the right to take seats in parlament etc. so both we will have stronger economy stronger army if we join albania too. So Macedonians give me some opinions about my plan ok I think this is great cause soon or later Macedonia is going to lose its identity so you better join kosova or albania cause one day kosova is going to be part of albania as it use to be. email me back at gjimi_p@hotmail.com or put a comment here I would love to hear that ok some comments from macedonians in macedonia not albanians in macedonia cause I know they would join us ciao......

GOD BLESS KOSOVA THE LAND OF DARDANIANS.....

Americans posting on this blog stop posting. You have no say in what is going on in the Balkans (actually, your country probably will, because it puts its corrupt hands on every international problem). If you have not been to Kosovo, Serbia, Macedonia, or any other Balkan countries that you are talking about, shut the fuck up. Noone cares what you have to say. You come on these blogs and say that the Albanians are the only levelheaded ones out of everyone. I guess then, Osama Bin Ladin is more levelheaded then the entire U.S. The ONLY reason the Albanians are fighting for Kosovo and "rights" in Macedonia is for the land. There are no buts, ands, or ifs about it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is an idiot. If you don't believe come and see for yourself. Its easy to judge someone from afar. Remember how all of you felt on 9/11? That is how the Serbs and Macedonians felt and still fell in Kosovo and Macedonia since the Albanian terrorists started the wars. Your nation got a reality check when 9/11 occurred, because you realized you were not invinvible when several thousand civilians died. How about all the innocents in Serbia and Macedonia. What about the "accidental" bombing of a Serbian hospital durring the Kosovo crisis? The U.S. has the best military technology in the world and it "accidentaly" missed its target and killed thousands hundreds of Serbian civilians in a hospital. Your country is full of hypocricy and you best check yourselves before you talkl shit about other people's countries. Serbia for the Serbians (and Montenegrins if they still want to chill with the Serbs) and Macedonia for the Macedonians!

Makedonec !

Im from US and I have told it over and over again as you will see in the future. Kosova will NOT be independent! The media in Kosova continue on a daily basis to fool the people of Kosova and it is very dangerous. US and EU have acknowledged this for a while and are preparing for wide spread riot when it becomes reality. Why on earth do you think Britain is ready to deploy several 1000s of elite troops? Why on earth do you think US is signing agreement with the Serbian military to take troops through Serbia from Bosnia and from Europe ? It is very serious and very bad that the Kosova media keeps "independenize" the people. First of all, it matters not a bit what Kosovo, Serbia, Albania, Russia, USA thinks. It will go through the Security Council. They decide !! Please try to get that into your heads !! The Kosova media fools the people by just taking the "good" out of a sentence. For example: Jessen-Petersen says: "The status talks will begin this winter". Kosova media: "SRSG says its near for independence". Why have status talks if independence is obvious ? I have never been so sure of anything else - Kosova will not be independent !

Anonymous said...

Serbian President Boris Tadic is today in Brighton to meet UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.

Gee, if the status of kosovo was already determined, why would Prime Minister Tony Blair waste his time and speak with President Tadic. You would think Foreign Minister Jack Straw would meet alone.

1:55 PM Poster, Judging from your post u are very afraid and stupid, because the EU wont let Albanians in Kosova be oppressed in that way by not granting the will of people.

*What sign would that send to the rest of the world? The will of the people doesn't matter? Don't give a fuck about the people living there?

*You speak in ways of a person that have realised the truth but still tries to find an excuse for himself, I ask one thing from you; THINK LOGICALLY!

*Macedonia will continue to be
Macedonian and Kosova will be independent; it’s only a matter of time.

*Albanians have spread all over the world, also being citizens of EU countries, these countries would not want to piss them off, just take for example little Sweden where in 1992 there was believed to be 10 000 kosovars living there, the number is probably much higher now, since Sweden doesn't agree on the right to register the ethnic background of people we will have difficulties getting an exact number. Remember its election year in Sweden and Sweden have broken their neutrality many times before, like Anna Lindh did when she supported the Nato-bombing and lost her life because of it years after. We already know the Non-Eu state of Switzerland and their stand!

*We know the US (remember the country running the world) stand for the respecting of the will of the people of Kosova.

*Kosovar will not get their request of unconditional independence granted but some form of conditional independence will be granted having its heart on the respect for minorities and the pledge not to join any other country, such as Albania!

The typical brainwashed Serb $hithead. Who the fvck do you think you are to order other bloggers (US bloggers) not to post here.

As for Tony Blair, the guy wanted NATO to send troops in Kosova. Fight the Serbs by air and infantry. Serbs gotta thank Clinton since he thought Air strikes where sufficient.

Soon or later kosova will become independent country with law and order which albanians and minorities such as serbians, turks, croats, bosnians will live togather in kosova and we will build up the economy which everyone will be happy........ so everyone has the right to live free we like to support the independence of kosova and soon independence of vojvodina and montenegro because no one wwants to live with in part of serbia!!!!!!

Serb posters are becoming very arrogant, nervous, and tricky claiming to quote inexistent "news" in irrelevat links. And recently such behavior has become prevalent, like Bush or Blair give a damn about this blog, Serbia, or the Security council.

Keep it up. I'll now when independence is near just by reading your commetns.

You know independence is a done deal now because the Serbian diaspora have gotten more racist, louder and crazier. even serbs in Belgrade want to be done with Kosova. And so be it.

Independence is right around the corner!

My dear albanians,
Kosovo & Metohija is Part of Serbia.
Please stop living in a fantasy world and learn to accept that the civilised world will never allow a lawless albanian state to spread across Europe and create security problems. Look at what your extremists are doing to innocent people every day. Next you'll want to take over Macedonia as well. The world isn't stupid - they can see your evil ways.

Anonymous said...

Well well you are calling the Albanians extremists and so on. Well but you serbs are Terrorists, separatists, rebels and so on you serbs are the ones who destroyed former yugo you serbs are the ones who cilled inicent people across yugo, you serbs are the ones who wants greater serbia thats only in your dreams...... So you keep calling extremists Albanians well We Albanians we are not killing inicent people we fought for freedom we fought for justice we fought to free Kosova and so on so STOP makinbg things up go and learn the real World and STOP being ingurante. I'm Kosovar Albanian and I whant to see Kosova seperated from serbia which is but the only thing is the super powers to accept it and they will. So you serbs move on forget Kosova because Kosova was never yours and it will never be yours Ok so any comments feel free to write here your opinion and show to the world the reality not propaganda as serbians always make things up thats why no one bealives them because they can't tell the reality.

Kids, Kids, Kids. Stop fighting. If you are Albania or Serb or Macedonian or Montenegrin, does it matter? No.

What is going to happen in the Balkans is the creatin of the Grreater Albania, i.e., Albania, Kosova, part of Macedonia, part of Montenegro, and the Chamria. This Greater Albania would have approximately 10 million Albanians muslims. Just think about it. What would they do to the Roman Catholics, the Christians, the Jew, or other minorities amongs them?

The new Albanian government in Tirana has no Roman Catholics. The nagotiating party for the independence of Kosava has no Roman Catholics. The Albanian Macedonian Party (whatever its proper bane is) has no roman Catholics. Just think about this for a second.

Do you think that the EU or the USA are realy inmterested if forming a 10 million muslism nation in the heart of Europe? Just think about it.

Got to go
Peace to you all

Men all of your shit does not make since what is wrong being muskim or catholic a everyone has their right to chose their own religion. Hahahahahaha the 12:48 poster said, "We Albanians are not agenist people's religions We are the only nation on earth that does is not hatered toward other religions". There is not one nation, or person for that matter, that does not discriminate against another person or people (whether you realize it or do it subcinsciously). It is human nature. To the albanians all your points are based on lies, and sooner or later you will get caught in them. We Macedonians and Serbians should unite together (forget our differences about our Orthodox Churches). Makedonija za Makedoncite i Srbija za Srbite.

I did not see this earlier, but poster at 9:57 AM who said, "Oh yeah and Ivan when Macedonia gained its independence from Yugoslavia why didn'y the serbs put up a fight to keep it? Because their isn't anything worth keeping. I just visited this past summer what a dismal little country." I visited Macedonia this summer aswell, and there are actually some very beautiful places there, Ohrid and Bitola to name a few (Struga, where both of my parents are from, went down the shit-hole as most of us know). Trust me when I say he poster Ivan is not a Macedonian, but an Albanian posting under a Macedonian Alias. When have you ever heard a Macedonian call Kosovo "Kosova"? Ivan said, "These horrible serbs not only want to have KOSOVA not become independant but they are trying to regain Macedonia back into its fold." As for Jovan Vraniskovski the priest that was jailed in Macedonia. He was jailed for money laundering and inciting ethnic and religious intolerance. He is a Macedonian priest, who is being paid by either the Serbian Orthodox Church or the Greek Orthodox Church to discredit the Macedonian Orthodox Church. The Serbian community in Veles denounced the decisions of the Serbian Orthodox Church for recognition of the so-called Orthodox Ohrid Archbishipric of the defrocked episcope Jovan. Serbs from Veles claim that they remain in the Macedonian Orthodox Church and that they will attend its temples in regard to their religious needs. "We thank Vranishkovski and his archbishopric for their wish to represent us, but we refuse their services. The decision to create a new church only managed to cause dissatisfaction among the local Serbs, because it endangered their good relations with their friends, relatives and neigbors," stated Vlastimir Jovic, member of the Local board of the United Serbian Community from Veles. Jovic reminded the public that members of the Board participated in banishing Zoran Vranishkovski from the Povardarska Eparchy of MPC.

Illija a slav mind cannot conceptualize the fact that people of different religions can live in happiness and not discriminate against each other. Come during christmas in Albania and you'll see muslims cellebrating in the homes of their christian relatives together. Come during Bajram in Albania and you'll see Albanian christians celebrating with their muslim relatives together.
According to you little slav mind I should discriminate against half of my family ( of 4 people) because they have different religion from me. It is possible to live in harmony even when people have different religion. There's hundreeds of thousands of families in Albania like mine, of mixed religion.
When slavs finally are able to conceptualize what we Albanians live every day then there's hope for peace in the Balkans.

I agree Ilija the Serbs and Macedonians have too much in common and too much at stake to be bickering over such small issues. We need to unity once again against these albanians who are using the old divide and conquer strategy. We need to come together and stop the albanization of our land.

We don't discriminate against anyone. We are the ones who have always been discriminated we know very well how all these groups feel. Two of my best friends are; one black and one hispanic. So cut this $hit.
The Serbs discriminate against them. A Serb thinks that everyone who is not Serb or Orthodox is an idiot. That is the Serb mentality.

Anonymous said...

I appologize to the Albanians, the supreme beings on this earth. The one ethnicity that is incapable of discriminating against another people. I never said to hate or discriminate against anyone that is another religion. The diverse albania your painting a picture of seems very appealing, but I'd rather not come to Albania for Bozik (Christmas), because if I did, I'd probably be mugged and killed by a mob of your fellow countrymen ready to "welcome me" with opened arms. Your talk is bullshit. Albania is made up of several different tribes or clans of people all of which hate eachother. there are even differnt dialects of Albanian spoken in different regions of Albania. Albanians from Albania envy Kosovars, because they are wealthier (most are corrupt drug dealers) and Kosovars look at Albanians from Albania as uncivilized people. By the way, I have many Bosnian Muslim friends along with my Serbian and Macedonian friends. Makedonija za Makedoncite i Srbija za Srbite.

As for the rest you are confirming yourself as a d.ic.k.h.e.a.d still believing the racist crap your grandpa told you. Kosovar Albanians are our brothers every Albanian no matter the region he was born is our brother, the wealthier they are the better for the rest of us.
Albanians of every religion are our brothers. We are born Albanians first and anything else comes later.
We're not like the Serbs or some faggy Macedonians like you who kill their own kind, other slavs, because they have a different religion.

As for being mugged don't flatter yourself, u're not worth the effort.

No matter how many times you write that kosova is never going to be part of serbia ahahahah kosova is and always will be albanian so

Kosova + Albania = Albania
Albania + KOsova = Albania

Kosovo and Metohija = Srbija
