UNMIK priorities: Creation of political forum and organizing the meeting between Rugova and Tadic (Zëri)

Zëri reports that SRSG Søren Jessen-Petersen met yesterday with representatives of Contact Group in Prishtina. Western diplomatic sources told the paper this was a regular meeting. The same sources also said that the SRSG briefed the diplomats on his goals surrounding the Kosovo Forum.

Another topic of discussion was the functioning of the Kosovo Assembly, after harsh debates between assembly speaker Nexhat Daci and ORA leader Veton Surroi.

The paper also says that the most sensitive issue discussed was the initiative of Serbian President Boris Tadic to meet with President Rugova. The UNMIK chief reportedly said there was no movement yet on this issue, but added that he was trying to create proper circumstances to organize a broad meeting and not a bilateral one.
