Koha Ditore reports on the front page that three high-level meetings, which will be held this week, will clarify the positions of the UN, US, Russia, EU and UNMIK toward Kosovo. This will also be the week of US pressure to accelerate the process, as US Under-Secretary Nicholas Burns will visit Europe and the Balkans.
The paper notes that the US and EU are determined that status talks should start this autumn in order to avoid the potential danger from a new wave of violence. Russia said that standards haven’t implemented and it calls for the postponement of the process. At the same time, international media and analysts consider that the US is determined in its position.

How odd, there is a glaring exclusion from the list of countries who are to decide Kosova's fate....how about Kosova?
What about the freedom of movement for minorities? Isn't that a standard? How many Serbian families have moved back into Urosevac/Ferizaj after the March 2004 riots?
Get real folks. When both Serbians and Albanians talk about "ethnically pure" towns and villages, something is still very wrong.
Serbian Families won't go back as they haven't got the jobs that they ALL had pre 1999....
so it is not the Albanians driving them out, but the obvious......they can't accept equality....
Most of the Serbs there pre 1999 were not locals anyway, but rather imports from Serbia who went there to work....
Colonizers now are gone, there is no more economic opportunity for them. Those that stayed are Kosovar Serbs, their home is in Kosova.
Lets see.. US-EU position will be whatever works for the time being, Russia is obviously no independence and the UN's is ... "whats going on?"
Albania's position is "where have all our people gone"?
Albania's position is "where have all our people gone"?
Serbs will always remain dickheads. If its an issue between Kosova and Serbia why do you mention Albania? Obviously from the Serb point of view this issue has nothing to do with standards democracy or status. It has everything to do with hate and killing of as many Albanians no matter where they live Montenegro, Albania, Kosova, FYROM or Cameria.
