Koha Ditore reports on the front page that chances are slim for changing the proposal for the Kosovo Forum as an advisory body, a document that the UNMIK chief sent to political parties and heads of institutions. The paper says that although it can be enriched, the Forum will not change from its basic framework.
UNMIK DPI Director Hua Jiang told the paper, ‘The SRSG’s position is that the Forum would not substitute the existing institutions, rather, it will be a support to the institutions and it will contribute to decision making in the appropriate constitutional fora.’ This is an important time for Kosovo which faces many challenges. ‘The SRSG feels that as we move forward, it would be useful to create an informal forum to enhance the dialogues between political parties on crucial issues like standards implementation, decentralization and status preparations,’ Jiang added.
