Prishtina [Pristina], 18 May: The International Monetary Fund warned today that if the Kosova [Kosovo] government continues with same trend of spending, the budget could face crises in 2006.
Marc Auboin, the IMF representative in Prishtina, said in a press conference today in Prishtina that Kosova's budget didn't face any crisis till now, "but the budget may remain without money, taking into account the pace Kosova's economy is developing, the impossibility to obtain loans and too many expenses".
Auboin said that the IMF is providing assistance to the government in budget planning, as part of the efforts to save the budget and make it sustainable during 2005-2006 period.
IMF's report shows that, in the first quarter of 2005, Kosova has spent 10m euros more than revenues collected. These means were usually used for payment of civil employees and for social benefits.
