Citing information broadcast by the Russian news agency Itar Tass, Express reports that the biggest Russian company for the production of aluminium, RusAl, plans to take part in renovating the two blocks in Kosovo B power plant and the construction of a new power plant called Kosovo C.
The Russian news agency broadcast this report relying on a statement made by Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Gvozdanovic. ‘RusAl is currently in negotiations with Kosovan authorities on the conditions for building new power blocks. The electricity produced in Kosovo would then be used to supply the Aluminium Plant in Podgorica,’ Gvozdanovic was quoted as saying.
Officials of the Kosovan Ministry for Energy said they were not aware that someone in Kosovo was in negotiations with the Russian company on the issue of power plants.
‘However, bearing in mind the circumstances of managing public enterprises in Kosovo, it could very easily be that KTA or UNMIK Pillar IV could be holding talks with the Russians,’ the paper added.
