Police arrest two Croats for smuggling Kosovo Albanians to EU

ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) - Police arrested two Croats who smuggled four Kosovo Albanians to neighboring Slovenia, a European Union country, over the weekend, officials said Monday.

One of the Croats guided the Albanians into Slovenia on foot across a river, but they were caught by Slovene police in a border village. The Albanians were deported back to Croatia and Croatian police then captured the smugglers, Zagreb police said.

The two, who were not identified, are suspected of bringing the Albanians from Kosovo to Croatia and trying to smuggle them into the EU.

Kosovo, a southern Serbian province, has been run by the United Nations since the 1999 war, but job opportunities there remain few and living conditions are harsh.

Croatia is at the edge of Western Europe and is on a transit route for immigrants trying to reach it. The country has recently increased efforts to clamp down on human trafficking as it seeks to join the EU.

Kosovareport is a blog that reports news, please try to not to post moronic comments. If Kosova was a Serb province wouldn't it have a Serb government, military and police?! To all Serbs, this is a battle you all have lost, just give it up and focus on other things. Quite being victimized over Kosova, move on. Follow the stelar example of the people of Kosova, work with Europe toward Europe. You guys lived without Kosova for centuries and now you are going to have to live without it forever. Just let this one go.

Kosova IS a serbian province according to the world and to UN res. 1244. If you want that to change, you better hope Russia and China doesnt use their veto powers in a new resolution.

A battle we have lost? If things stay the way they are, we have won. If Kosovo has a 99.9999999998% population of ablanians, but is not an independant country, we have still won. If you slaughter serbs and burn down our medieval churches, but kosovo is not independant, we have won. If you guys go on a rampage and try to attack Serbia, And the world stops you, and kosovo stays dependant, we win.

KOSOVO FOR SERBIA, BEFORE EU

My my, this is like listening to some 14 year old who has been rejected by a girl. Don't let your hormones control you so much, Kosova can't be Serbia because Serbia is not civilized, and because the people of Kosova are not Serb, and don't choose to be part of Serbia. If you don't like this, then you can show how uncivilized you are and kill us all, but of course there are consequences to that... :)

So will you choose the civilized way or the mideval way?
