Rugova requests membership of Kosovo in International Financial Mechanisms

Representative of IFM Garvin Bell said that the representatives of the Fund would stay two weeks in Kosovo to discuss with many competent economists for views and economical perspectives of Kosovo.

Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova yesterday requested that Kosovo be as soon as possible a member of International Financial Mechanisms such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bvank or the European Bank. ‘This would enable us to take loan, and also this is connected with the independence of Kosovo’, said Rugova.

Garvin Bell said: “We informed President Rugova that we are very impressed with the results that Kosovo achieved during this transitional period, while entering a new phase.”

Also he added that, ‘we have discussed special measures that must be undertaken from institutions in this direction.
