Kosovans welcome Ahtisaari’s name as status mediator

Koha Ditore reports that most political parties and institutions in Kosovo have welcomed the name of former Finnish President Marti Ahtisaari for negotiator on l status talks, while others have not wished to pre-empt the formal appointment by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The paper says that Ahtisaari, the most serious candidate for the UN envoy on status post, has in principle the support of institutions and political parties in Kosovo, but some of the latter believe that the head of negotiations should be an American or someone appointed by the US.

Oh yeah, we love Ahtisaari. He was able to let NATO into Kosovo and convince the Serbs that they have won the war in 1999.

Let's hope that Independence will be recognized and he will convince Serbs that they have won again!
