Serbian Radicals support premier's plan to meet Kosovo PM - chief whip

Belgrade, 16 May: The Serbian Radical Party [SRS] chief whip, Tomislav Nikolic, said today, regarding the invitation Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has sent to Kosovo-Metohija Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi for a meeting on 24 May, that Kostunica "will enjoy the support of the SRS" if he advocated the attitudes he had presented to Nikolic.

"There is no independence and sovereignty for Kosovo-Metohija. We can discuss the highest levels of autonomy within the borders of Serbia," Nikolic said.

He said that he would like the Serbian Assembly to take a stand on that, adding that he expected the Serbian premier to inform the Serbian public on the Albanian representatives' attitudes following every round of talks and on whether "the international community is on their side or on the side which we will represent".
