Kosovo president meets new OSCE envoy

Prishtina [Pristina], 4 May: President Ibrahim Rugova today had an introductory meeting with the newly-appointed Chief of the OSCE mission in Kosova [Kosovo], Werner Wnendt.

Rugova told the media that he has briefed the OSCE representative with the progress and objectives of Kosova institutions.

He emphasized that Kosova had made a lot of progress for those six years, which is an evidence that the country is on the right track towards the EU integration. "We will continue making further progress along with the OSCE," he added.

Whereas Wnendt, on the other hand, said that the OSCE will continue to be present and contribute to Kosova's progress. "It was a pleasure to meet President Rugova. We discussed a wide range of issues, in particular the future of the region, which is very rich and has a European perspective."

He said that the OSCE would continue to be committed, in particular in the upcoming six months, which are critical for Kosova.
