Premier says Kosovo does not recognize Belgrade-Skopje border accord

Text of report in English by independent internet news agency KosovaLive

Prishtina [Pristina], 24 April: Prime Minister Agim Ceku considers the agreement reached between Skopje and Belgrade on the delineation of Kosova's [Kosovo] border with Macedonia as invalid.

He made these comments today in Prishtina following a meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Albanians [PDSh], Arben Xhaferi.

Ceku believes that the delineation is not an urgent issue and that it will be solved at a more appropriate time for both parties. "Kosova is currently dealing with much more important issues than that."

"We do not recognize any agreement signed between Belgrade and Skopje," Ceku said, adding that this is a stance of the Kosova Assembly, as well.

According to the prime minister, this issue will be settled based on the principles of the international law, without any political or technical influence.

The chairman of the PDSh, Arben Xhaferi, considers the issue of delineation as a calumny, adding that "it must be solved based on the Contact Group principles".

He said that he came to Prishtina to get the political and institutional support from the leaders of Kosova, and particularly Prime Minister Ceku, for the elections that will be held in Macedonia, and at the same time to give full support in order for Kosova to be a sovereign and independent state.

"Kosova is a dike with all the countries in transition regarding democratic elections. Today in Kosova, everyone agrees that the democratic standards during the election have been fully respected. Continuing this conclusion Kosova has moral authority to support democratic elections in Macedonia," he said.

Xhaferi also met with President Fatmir Sejdiu and Kosova Assembly Chairman Kole Berisha.

Ceku confirmed that he will visit Skopje on 5 May. However he added that he is not going there with an offer on the border.

The EU and NATO already agree that kosovos final status depends on the border demarcation.

I would love to know what Skopje was thinking (or smoking) when it agreed to exchange some of its land for same land that Serbia didn't own and was glad to give up. This will turn into a lorg-term problem if it's not resolved with both sides satisfied.

Looks like Ceku is going to be the troublemaker of Europe.

Looks like Macedonians cannot possibly claim something which is not theirs, which is supposed to be the rule of thumb for every human being in this planet (Serbs haven't heard of this neither). Macedonia will keep in being quite and supporting anything in Kosova says, - they know their demograpihics well.

Ceku will have to bite his tongue on this one if he wants independance for kosovo. If he begins trouble with the border demarcation issue you can be assured that the UN and EU will have a change of heart about kosovo's status and it will delay independance for a few more years, something kosovar albanians do not want.

Ceku can not be an imperialist going for more and more land for Kosovo. He would be an idiot.

Giving Kosova's territory to Macedonia was a stroke of a genius by the sewerbeings. They made sure Macedonia will have trouble with Kosova and therefore never agree to Kosova's independence until the border issue is resolved and if Macedonia doesn't agree to the independence they have a sizeable Albanian population that could cause trouble for Macedonians. On the other hand if Macedonians agree to negotiations with Albanians about the border, they lost the area that they already swaped with the sewerbeings. Kosova and Macedonia must show good faith in order to let the servs with their dick in their mouths drooling for more rapes.

Hey Mike Peterson. First off Kosovo(a) recognizes Macedonia as Macedonia not as fyrom. Second do not label all slavs as you just have because this was a deal between serbia and Macedonia before there even was a Kosovo issue.
You my friend live in a stone age and need to get out more often and see the world. Macedonia is kosovos friend. Whether kosovo likes it or not. It's people like you who give your people a bad name.

Well it seems that those peoples that write anonymous messages it seems that they do not see that Kosovo territories can't be traded aftermath 1999 from Serbia. I wonder why Serbia didn't make this kind of border demarcation prior 1999. Well just to mention something what happened some time ago in Balkan. It is well known that Slobodan Milosevic and Franjo Tudjman had an agreement to split Bosnia and Herzegovina so it never exist any more. This agreement has been made before the Bosnia and Herzegovina got recognized as independent countries. But is this agreement established. And with who the "Macedonians" should look for agreement? It is like for example Indonesia if they made any agreement with Australia about water border demarcation of the its border where now it is called East Timor during the process of defining status.
So I think new agreement should be made and now with Albanian leaders not with Serbian leaders after definining the status issues.

P.S. I come from the city of that could be or not affected by this agreement

Again, this agreement was made before there was turmoil in kosovo(a). Whether Macedonia gets all of the territory proposed by the agreement or even half kosovo(a) will accept it and will have no choice. I'm not trying to antagonize you people I'm just telling you that this is a fact period.

If I know my people and I believ I do Kosova will never agree to let Macedonia get away with this. Which was the aim of the serbs in the first place. They created and enemy for Macedonian and Kosova which they can use for their benefit. Kudos to sewerbeings on this great plan. Will it work remains to be seen.

Macedonia will never agree to any alterations of the boarder. Kosovo can dream on... sad to say. Can't wait for blood to shed in Macedonia again to kill Albanians! My cousin called me a couple of years ago...told me he killed 5 Albanians in Tetovo... I hope that number increases soon. Live on MILOSEVIC and his POWER!!!
