European Parliament: Kosovo, no return back, no unification with other States, no division (Zeri)

Zëri reports on the front page that the European Parliament is calling on Europe to take on the main role in preparing negotiations for the final status and to exclude the following scenarios; return of constitutional relations with Serbia and Montenegro, union with Albania or with another state or territory in the region, and division of Kosovo, because as they say this would facilitate the process.

European Parliament adopted last week a Resolution on the situation of regional integrations in the Western Balkans and they offered recommendations for Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro and Macedonia.

They also call on Belgrade and Pristina to engage in dialogue and find a constructive solution for the future of Kosovo.

All sides should be aware of the European future of the entire region, the Resolution points out.

Being albanian myself, I still do not see how Kosova can achieve independence. UN Sec. Coun. Res. 1244 gives Kosova to Serbia-Mont. Unless there is a new resolution for independence, Kosova will remain under Serbia-Montengro. With Greece, France, Romania, China, Russia(both the latter holding veto power) on the security council until 2007, i cannot see how a new resolution would pass. The myth about Kosova becoming independent having full US support and recognition is just not a reality.

There is no other solution for Kosova except independence. Balkan will not have peace without fulfilling desire and need of majority popullation in Kosova. US excpetence of independence I believe will be the first step to the final status

For years this phrase has been repeated: There is no other solution for Kosova except independence. This is, in my opinion, very correct. But repeating it does not change one awkward fact: there are some Serbs who do not accept Kosova's independence. And very few people are "needed" to make Kosova's independence a mess or even a subject to terrorism.
If the great rich powers of the world were wise enough they would say: No hurry, we stay here till you (Albanians and Serbs) agree on what to do with your future.
