In a front-page editorial in Zëri, Blerim Shala writes that the Contact Group meeting has clarified the positions of the most powerful countries that will play a crucial role in the resolution of Kosovo’s status.
Shala says that the often-mentioned three principles have won the support of the Contact Group. ‘Only a year ago, the partition of Kosovo even in some Western capitals was seen as a possible solution that should be on the table of talks. But in the meantime, there were certain developments in the last 12 months which eliminated the risk of partition.’
Shala also notes that the actions and opinions of UNMIK chief Søren Jessen-Petersen played a major role in eliminating the risk of partition.
