Zëri quotes British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw as saying that Kosovo’s independence is an option that would be discussed when the time comes for talks on final status. Straw also ruled out every possibility for the status to be resolved in a unilateral way.
Commenting on a report by the British Committee for Foreign Policy, Straw was quoted as saying, ‘The Government has in mind the opinions of the committee... that the independence of Kosovo is inevitable. Independence is only an option that will be discussed. It is not up to Great Britain to dictate the future of Kosovo, but it cannot be decided in a unilateral way or through violence.’
