Prishtina [Pristina], 6 October: The Negotiating Team came out today with a joint stance that the independence is the only platform and compromise for Kosova [Kosovo].
The head of the Negotiating Team, President Ibrahim Rugova, described the meeting as important. He said that they have discussed about the operational plan of Kosova delegation and about many documents that should be approved in the future.
President Rugova said that independence is determination of the political leaders and the will of Kosovar people. "Our platform is independence. We need to make an operational plan for our group's work, if there will be any talks on the independence of Kosova. But we insist on a direct recognition of independence," said Rugova, adding that they are not demanding union with Albania, which would bring new problems.
The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosova [PDK], Hashim Thaci, said that his participation in the meeting is an expression of good will and confirmation of the PDK for unity.
"The Kosovar delegation should present the strength of the political parties in Kosova, whereas every document of the delegation should have the approval of the Kosova Assembly in consensual way," said PDK Chairman Thaci, adding that Albanian MPs should be united in the coming weeks in reconfirming the will of the people for an independent and sovereign country.
"The resolution for an independent and sovereign country should represent a good basis for the political platform," said Thaci.
The chairman of The Hour, Veton Surroi, said that the platform is very clear, and it is independence. "This is a broader elaboration that needs to be done. This elaboration has our full consensus, but it should be presented to the parliament as well, and it should be an obligation for any future talks," said Surroi.
Kosova assembly Speaker Nexhat Daci said that the biggest achievement of this meeting is the consensus between the members of this team. "This delegation of Kosova will get its mandate by the parliament, whereas the lowest limit is independence," evaluated Daci.

Will anybody ask Thaqi or Tadic what status to give to Kosova? Me don't think so.

No need to ask, COmplete Independence. Tadic won't do a thing we all know it, he has no balls to stand up to his party or to kushtinica
Jo Negociata, Vetëvendosje!!
If Serbia has a say in Kosovar affairs then we have a say in theirs.
We give no independence to Serbia!
(btw did anyone notice that Serbia has never been a state all alone? That's why they oppose Kosovar independence, they are affraid of being alone at night..noone to beat up)
Neither more or less than independence. We do NOT accept anything else.
Best regards from beautiful Kosova
Another Game of the bigger powers with Kosova and Serbia and other ballkan states ... experimenting and using them for power control.
I'm surprised that the British haven't suggested partition - its their favourite solution to every foreign relations problem, for example
- Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland
- India/Pakistan
- Pakistan / Bangladesh
And its always been such a huge success... :-)
Its because the US is in charge of the game now.
