UNMIK chief tells Kosovo president to resign as LDK leader if re-elected

At a meeting with Kosova [Kosovo] President Ibrahim Rugova, UNMIK [UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo] chief Soeren Jessen-Petersen warned him that in case of being re-elected president, he had to resign the post of chairman of the Democratic League of Kosova [LDK].

As is known, the Kosova president, who hopes to win the votes of the Kosova Assembly for another term as president, has retained his position as LDK chairman since the party was formed 15 years ago.

For his part, AAK [Alliance for the Future of Kosovo] chairman Ramush Haradinaj has already said that he would resign the AAK leadership post as soon as he is elected prime minister.
