Bomb lobbed at Albanian home in divided Kosovo town

A bomb was hurled at an Albanian-owned house in the northern [mainly Serb-controlled] part of Kosovska Mitrovica at around 2400 [2300 gmt] last night, northern police station commander Roger Phillips has said.

The explosion took place in the part of the town known as "mikro naselje". No one was injured in the incident as the house was empty, Phillips said.

He added that slight damage was caused to the house and that the owner was in Germany.

UNMIK [UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo] police and a special Kfor [NATO-led peacekeeping force] unit have visited the scene of the incident and the investigation is continuing, Phillips said.
